Is your child shy?
Are they slow to warm up to others?
Is your child a bit of a worrier?
Would you describe your child as
fearful or sensitive?

CatholicCare Social Services have recently added the Cool Kids and the Cool Little Kids Anxiety Support Program to their vast array of support services. For both primary school children and pre-school children, these programs are evidence-based and offer anxiety support and therapy to families where their children are experiencing high levels of anxiety. This program runs for 8 – 10 weeks.

The Cool Kids program has been running at Macquarie University since 1993. It is a structured, skills-based program that teaches children and their parents how to better manage a child’s anxiety.

If your child is experiencing high levels of anxiety and you are interested in finding out more about the program, contact us via the details below.

Similarly, if you are interested in running this program for children and parents in your school community, you can book a two hour information session that can be held at your school.

School information nights are free of charge and will cover the following:

1. What is anxiety?

2. How to recognise what is happening when anxiety is present?

3. How does the Cool Kids Anxiety Program work?

4. What sort of things do I need to know as a parent to allow the program to be successful for my child?

To find out more about how the Cool Kids Anxiety Program can be of support to your family, please contact Trish Nowland on (02) 8822 2222 or email trish.nowland@ccss.org.au
