The Schoenstatt Shrine at Mt Schoenstatt, Mulgoa, in the Diocese of Parramatta is a place of pilgrimage and grace where each week many pilgrims come to pray and spend time with Our Blessed Mother.

They come because they love the shrine and find in it a prayerful, peaceful place where they can feel at home. They believe that our Merciful Mother will answer their prayers and petitions and grant us to accept the gifts and challenges that God sends us.

We believe that with the help of Our Lady and her Son, we will come to know and believe that we have a merciful Father who loves us and only wants what is best for us.

The Diocese has nominated the shrine as one of the special places where a Door of Mercy will be open for the duration of the Holy Year, so that all who enter “will experience the love of God who consoles, pardons and instils hope” (Pope Francis)

In this Holy Year of Mercy, the Holy Father is also encouraging each one of us to go on pilgrimage because “it represents the journey each of us makes in this life” (Pope Francis).

He sees this as a sign “that mercy is also a goal to reach and requires dedication and sacrifice. May pilgrimage be an impetus to conversion: by crossing the threshold of the Holy Door, we will find the strength to embrace God’s mercy and dedicate ourselves to being merciful to others as the Father has been with us.”

So in this Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, you are invited to come on pilgrimage to the Schoenstatt Shrine at 230 Fairlight Road, Mulgoa. You might consider organising a pilgrimage from your parish, or come along privately with your family and friends.

The shrine is open each day from 7am-8pm, except Mondays.

If you would like to bring a pilgrimage group, please contact the Schoenstatt Spirituality Centre so we can organise a welcome for your group or parish: tel (02) 4773 8338 or send an email to info@schoenstatt.org.au
