All invited to Parramatta Street Feast Saturday 12 November

8 November 2022

After a two-year hiatus, the Diocese of Parramatta will be celebrating the Parramatta Street Feast on Saturday, the 12th November 2022.

The Parramatta Street Feast is a response to Pope Francis’ call to build a more inclusive, welcoming and generous society.

It is a free event that includes delicious food, great company and wonderful entertainment. Clients of partner agencies, and all parishioners, students, volunteers and people working within the Diocese of Parramatta are invited to share a meal, help on the day and celebrate together in the spirit of solidarity and friendship.

This initiative was created in conjunction with, and is sponsored by, the PAYCE Foundation, Paynter Dixon, St Merkorious Charity and the Diocese of Parramatta.

Bishop Vincent says it is one way Christians can answer the call of Jesus to help the marginalised and disadvantaged.

As Pope Francis said earlier this year:

“Jesus’ words are clear: if we want life to triumph over death, and dignity to be redeemed from injustice, we need to follow Christ’s path of poverty, sharing our lives out of love, breaking the bread of our daily existence with our brothers and sisters, beginning with the least of them, those who lack the very essentials of life. ”

If you would like to attend or volunteer on the day, please email met@parracatholic.org
