Bishop Vincent Long’s visit to Mary Immaculate Parish Quakers Hill was eagerly awaited by young and old, knowing that it would be a special evening of worship and reflection.

Fr Oliver Aro MSP joined the Bishop in the concelebration of the Vigil Mass, with assistance of Deacon Leon OFS. After Mass, the community convened in our newly constructed alfresco area, which has quickly become a beloved addition to our parish, providing a welcoming environment for post-Mass gatherings and fellowship. On this particular evening, it served as the perfect place for a heartwarming interaction between the children of our Junior Youth Group and Bishop Vincent.

As the children of the Junior Youth Group gathered around the Bishop, their curiosity and enthusiasm were palpable. It was heartwarming to witness the Bishop’s genuine interest in their inquiries, fostering an environment where young minds could flourish. The children’s questions ranged from matters of faith to personal anecdotes, and Bishop Vincent responded with wisdom and compassion, leaving a profound impact on their young hearts.

One delightful revelation from the gathering was the Bishop’s fondness for Roast Lamb. It was a pleasant surprise to learn about his culinary preferences, and the next time we are blessed with his presence, we will ensure that Roast Lamb takes a prominent place on the menu.

Bishop Vincent’s visit to Mary Immaculate Parish during the Vigil Mass was a true blessing. It strengthened the bonds of our faith community and left us with cherished memories to carry forward. This event served as a reminder that, in our shared faith journey, moments of communion, both spiritual and gastronomic, are essential for nurturing our collective spirit.
