An opportunity to meet up with friends and golfing buddies while raising funds for charity drew 132 golfers and supporters to the 29th Annual Parramatta Diocesan Golf Day. The event was held in perfect weather at Richmond Golf Club on 22 September 2015.

More than $11,400 was raised with the support of sponsorship from the Diocesan Development Fund (DDF) in the Diocese of Parramatta and Catholic Church Insurance (CCI). Both sponsors were acknowledged for their assistance for the event over the past 29 years.

The purchase of ‘mulligans’ at $5 and other donations raised approximately $10,000 for the Panglao Island Women & Children’s Crisis Centre in the Diocese of Tagbilaran, Bohol, Philippines.

The Diocese of Parramatta, in partnership with the Diocese of Tagbilaran, will use these funds for the abandoned children and abused women cared for by the Crisis Centre.

With donations from the Richmond Club Ltd, the Club PGA Pro and Catholic Church Insurance, the raffle raised a record $1400.

Hearty congratulations to the team from Nagle College, South Blacktown, whose members took out the coveted DDF Professional Trophy for best scratch score for a team score of 59.

Bravo to team members Andrew Houseman, Markham Matthews, Scott Kitto and Hamish Jamison who received the prestigious trophy presented by the DDF’s Chief Executive Officer, Kieran Bryce.
