Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, and the Diocese of Parramatta invite you to the Ordination to the Presbyterate of Tom Green on Thursday 21 September at 7.30pm at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta.
Well wishers who are unable to attend in-person can tune in to the livestream, which is live, free and open to all via the St Patrick’s Cathedral YouTube channel.
Tom was born and raised in the Diocese of Parramatta, growing up in the lower Blue Mountains and attending St John Vianney Parish, Doonside.
He commenced his journey in the Diocese’s Holy Spirit Seminary in 2016 and has served as Deacon in Mary, Queen of the Family Parish in Blacktown. Tom has recently returned from World Youth Day 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal where he accompanied 170 young pilgrims providing them with spiritual guidance and advice on vocations. Tom’s ordination means there will be two priests in the Green family, as he joins his brother Fr Jack Green.
Tom’s first Mass as a newly ordained priest will be celebrated on Friday 22 September at St Michael’s Church, Mary Queen of the Family Parish, Blacktown at 7.30pm.
We pray that Tom might be a faithful servant of God and wish him well in his new priestly ministry.
