As the Synod on Synodality enters a new phase, Vatican News brings you the first in a series of videos to explore how the continental phase is being prepared, following the completion of documents from the diocesan and national levels.
Experts from 5 continents – with various competencies and perspectives – are meeting until 2 October in the Italian city of Frascati, near Rome, to elaborate the Document of the second stage of the synodal process 2021-2023, known as the continental stage of the Synod, and thus continue the process of discernment, dialogue and listening.
In collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Synod, David Costa, a young videographer from Costa Rica, explores the unprecedented experience of the General Secretariat of the Synod, and offers a series of videos throughout this preparatory phase.
Departure for Frascati
In this first video, David recounts the arrival of the experts in Rome and their departure for Frascati.
Through the words of Cristina Kheng, professor of pastoral leadership at the East Asian Pastoral Institute, and Father David MC Callum SJ, executive director of the Discerning Leadership program, David Costa documents the task of these experts and the spirit in which they are preparing for this important mission.
