Lalor Park Parish Wednesday Evening Devotions

Upper Blue Mountains Parish Adoration Chapel

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Parish in the Upper Blue Mountains has opened an Adoration Chapel at St Canice’s Church, Katoomba. Nigerian Mass in Igbo

The Nigerian Catholic community come together to celebrate Mass every second and fourth Sundays of the month at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, 198 Old Prospect Road, Greystanes. CEDP High Support Learning Centres

Kirinari, located in Llandilo and Wiyanga, located in Dundas, are purpose built centres for learning that provide an inclusive education for students with a moderate intellectual disability and high support needs. Greystanes Parish Biblical Studies Part 2: February 2020

Throughout the month of February, Fr Joseph Lam from Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish, Greystanes, will run a series of biblical studies on Prophetic Literature in the Old Testament. Sessions will be held at the parish every Thursday in February and on 5 March from 7.30pm to 9pm. Registrations are essential by, where you can also obtain the recommended reading list.

Ash Wednesday Project Compassion Diocese Launch: 26 February 

Please join us for the launch of Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion in the Diocese on Ash Wednesday, 26 February, at St Patrick’s Cathedral. Mass will be held at 7.30pm, with the launch to follow. International Speaker, Florida Senis Rafer will be joining us. The Themes of Faith program invites participants to share conversation and reflection in small groups. Each group is accompanied by a mentor with a focus on different key life/faith theme each time. St Patrick’s Cathedral Relics of St Thérèse of Lisieux Visit: 4 March

As part of a four month pilgrimage in Australia, the relics of St Thérèse of Lisieux and her parents, Saints Louis and Zelie Martin, will visit St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta for overnight veneration from 9.30pm on Wednesday March 4. The relics are expected to leave the Cathedral the following day for the Diocese of Broken Bay at 6.15am. Books and various items will be available for purchase.

National Biennial Liturgy Conference: 12 – 14 March

The Diocese of Parramatta is hosting the National Biennial Liturgy Conference, an Australian gathering of liturgy representatives, pastoral ministers, catechists, musicians, educators and all who are interested in liturgy. The Conference, to be held at Novotel Sydney Parramatta from 12 to 14 March, will include an excellent variety of workshops whilst focusing on fostering and forming the people of God at prayer. The Legacy of Jean Vanier Public Lecture: 19 March

Eileen Glass AM will deliver a public lecture in memory of the late Jean Vanier of the L’Arche movement on Thursday 19 March at 7pm at the Ailsa Mackinnon Community Centre at OLMC Parramatta. Pilgrimage with Fr Paul Marshall: 18 September – 11 October

Fr Paul Marshall, from Greystanes Parish, will be leading a pilgrimage stopping at Fatima, and Lourdes with visits to other sites of notable saints such as Teresa of Avila and Ignatius of Loyola in Spain, Therese of Lisieux and St Vincent de Paul in France, then to Padua, Florence, Assisi (being in Assisi for St Francis’ Feast Day on 4 October), Rome and return to Sydney on 11 October. Australian Church Bushfire Response

Special collections at Masses across the country on the Australia Day weekend have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support people and communities affected by the devastating bushfires. Australian Commemoration of the Sunday of the Word of God

The Bishops Commission for Liturgy is considering how the Church in Australia will mark the celebration of the Sunday of the Word of God, established by Pope Francis and held on the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time. This celebration is held in Rome during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which is celebrated much later in the year in Australia. The Commission has proposed another date be established for the Sunday of the Word of God in Australia, and will provide recommendations to the Bishops Conference in May.

ACU Themes of the Plenary Council Lecture Series: March 2020

Australian Catholic University are hosting a series of lectures on the key themes of the Plenary Council 2020 during March. The lectures will be held in the Edmund Rice Building at its Strathfield Campus on each Wednesday through March. Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv and Fr Peter Williams will be guest lecturers. Shaping the Future of the Catholic Church Symposium: 4 March

The Implementation Advisory Group (established by ACBC and Catholic Religious Australia) are hosting a symposium on ‘Shaping the Future of the Catholic Church’ with three international experts on Wednesday 4 March from 1pm to 5pm.
