Today is the Third Sunday of Easter. The Gospel proclaims another appearance of the Risen Lord. This time, he eats in front of them and he “open[s] their minds to understand the Scriptures.” Then he tells them: “Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.” Thanks to these witnesses of the Resurrection! We can proclaim that Jesus is indeed Risen! Let our minds of faith be opened by the Scriptures
Cardinal Tagle, Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, has provided the following reflection from the Third Sunday of Easter.
