WATAC Presents: What was it like to be a woman at the Plenary Council?

Two women, one a Member of the periti (advisors) and the other a Member of the Council itself, will provide insight into their experiences at the next instalment of the popular webinar series, WATAC Presents via Zoom.

Clare Condon SGS and Maddy Forde will join in conversation with Dr Tracy McEwan, Vice President of WATAC on Wednesday 12th October at 7pm AEDT.

WATAC Presents is an interactive webinar event hosted by WATAC (Women and the Australian Church), that delivers theological formation and builds community.

Clare and Maddy will be invited to share their experiences and provide insight into what the Council might mean for the Church.

Clare is a Sister of the Good Samaritan, and former leader of the Congregation. She lives in the ACT, on Ngunnawal country. Clare has been part of church governance at the national and regional level in Australia.

Maddy (she/her) resides in Wangal and Gadigal Country. She works with ACU and is the current Oceania Representative for the International Youth Advisory Body for the Dicastery of Laity, Family and Life in the Vatican.

President of WATAC, Andrea Dean, said, “The experience of being at the Plenary Council was so significant and this conversation will be a valuable opportunity for a wider audience to understand some of the challenges Members were required to face.”
