Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, has recently given some early Christmas cheer to aged care residents in the Diocese of Parramatta.
On Thursday 18 December, Bishop Vincent, assisted by recently ordained Deacon Andrew Rooney, conducted a Christmas Mass for residents of the Arcare Aged Care, Oatlands. It was the first time in numerous months that the residents could gather for a sacred Mass.

The Arcare Oatlands residents were overjoyed and could not contain their excitement with their glowing smiles singing along to “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night” enthusiastically.
Having an individual blessing from the Bishop and then Communion was truly something special. Bishop Vincent Long commented that during the service it was a blessing that no residents fell asleep!
As a community, we are hopeful we can continue hosting masses within our Arcare Community.
With thanks to Arcare Aged Care Oatlands.
