The Los Angeles Religious Education Congress (RECongress) is a dynamic gathering of the global church, welcoming all to meet Jesus through Connection, Learning and Worship.
RECongress inspires, transforms, and sends us out to spread the joy of the Gospel, to be a voice for justice and to serve the needs of the world.
Due to COVID, the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress will be held virtually.
Parish Teams, Pastoral Councillors, Ministry Coordinators and Volunteers – anyone involved in parish life – are invited to be part of a five-day retreat to experience the RECongress without leaving the country.
The Retreat experience, hosted by the Pastoral Ministry Network, and supported by the Diocese of Parramatta, will follow the Congress Outline, include local experiences and conclude with a reflection day to bring together all the learnings to take back into local communities.
The Retreat will be held at Carmel House, 345 St Andrews Road, Varroville, NSW, during the Congress days of Friday 19 February to Monday 22 February 2021, with an optional retreat day to be held on Tuesday 23 February.
The retreat is COVD-Safe and will adhere to all COVID regulations
Registration for the RECongress is $US35 – individuals can register at recongress.org
Accommodation at Carmel House during the retreat is $150 per person per night (includes linen, towels, three meals, morning tea and swimming facilities)
If you are unable to attend the retreat but would like to engage in the Congress experience, you can register for Congress at recongress.org and experience it in your own home or encourage others in your own communities to join with you.
The Pastoral Planning Office is also offering accompaniment support to parish teams and individuals in the lead-up, during and after the Congress experience. This offers an opportunity to prepare for, reflect on and implement your Congress experience.
