With Bishop Vincent’s guidance, the Synod Secretariat release additional details on the Diocesan Synod Assembly to be held in Parramatta on Friday afternoon 13 October – Sunday 15 October 2023.
To encourage the ongoing prayer and participation of the entire people of God in the Synod process, a pre-assembly event will be held on Thursday evening, 12 October, and all are welcome to attend. The purpose of the pre-assembly event is to invite our Diocesan community into communal prayer, fellowship, witnessing to our journeying together, with the Holy Spirit as Synod members prepare for the opening of the Synod the following day. The event will include Sacraments, live music, dynamic activities, and opportunities for formation and connection.
The Opening Mass of the Synod will be held on the afternoon of Friday, 13 October where only members of the Diocesan Synod will formally begin a process of prayer, listening, and discernment on pastoral matters raised over the listening period of our synodal journey. The Synod will end on the evening of Sunday, 15 October.
