Administration Assistant (Part-Time) – Sacred Heart Parish, Mt Druitt South and the Permanent Diaconate Community

 

Sacred Heart Parish, Mount Druitt South, and the Diocese of Parramatta’s Permament Diaconate Office is seeking an Administration Assistant, working two (2) days per week (Mondays and Thursdays preferably) from Sacred Heart Parish, Mount Druitt South.

We are a small, welcoming, multicultural faith community that gathers around the Eucharist and then goes forth to serve others and spread the Gospel. Sacred Heart Parish has an emergent vibrancy from the youth, young families and diverse cultures.

The Catholic Permanent Diaconate program is an ‘office’ supporting those who are discerning their vocation as permanent deacons, deacons in formation and the permanent diaconate ministry including their wives. The Diocese of Parramatta diaconate program is leading the way in Australia with innovation.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Pastoral Director or delegate, the Administration Assistant will provide administrative services to the Parish and the Diaconate Office of the Diocese of Parramatta. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative support including e-mails, telephone calls, greeting people, and taking minutes.
  • Preparation of the weekly Parish newsletter.
  • Invoice management using MYOB
  • Arranging BAS Statement and payments of GST to ATO.
  • Event management

About you

The successful candidate must demonstrate;

  • A commitment to the ethos and values of the Catholic Church.
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail and time management skills to meet certain deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and have a proactive approach.
  • A clear communicator with a professional manner.

You need to have:

  • A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain).
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365 and preferably in PADRE & MYOB.
  • A current NSW driver’s license and access to a car.
