About the role

The Communications Team at the Diocese of Parramatta is growing! We are after a Communications and Digital Manager to create, drive and execute the Communications and Digital strategy for the Catholic Church of Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Engagement, the Communications and Digital Manager will be responsible for a small team and will partner with the various business units and agencies across our Chancery Office to support them with their communications needs. This role will be responsible for all digital platforms including but not limited to, Diocesan websites and social media, as well as all brand and marketing strategies.

This role will also support the Head of Communications and Engagement with creating compelling and impactful content and communications material, and media and stakeholder management.

Being a newly created role in the team, there is scope to make the role as diverse and creative as you are willing to make it. With the ability to work across the multitude of communications areas – internal and external communications, brand, creative, digital, issues and media management to name a few, this role will provide you with the ability to continue to be inspired and excited by the work, as well offer many opportunities for professional and personal development.

 

About You

Ideally, you will have over 8 years’ experience in a similar role covering traditional and digital communications, with the ability to stay abreast of trends in this space. Experience in both mainstream and niche digital platforms is required, with demonstrated experience in implementing successful SEO, SEM and SMM strategies. You will need to have a strong track record of managing people and creating a great work atmosphere.

A demonstrated understanding and preparedness to commit to the ethos and values of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Parramatta is a must. It is necessary that your stakeholder management skills are at a high level, along with outstanding written and verbal skills. You will need to be able to develop well thought-out strategies based on data and insights, and execute to the highest level. Overall, you will be a positive and enthusiastic communications professional, looking for the next rewarding step in your career.
