The Diocese of Parramatta is seeking an experienced Asset & Leasing Manager to join our welcoming and highly skilled Property Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to bring your comprehensive asset and leasing experience to an unconventional work environment, where you will oversee the asset portfolio for the Catholic Church across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the day-to-day management and financial reporting for the Diocesan asset portfolio. It also involves assisting in the management of external service providers associated with the asset management function.

The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including property inspections, lease administration, tenant monitoring, property records management, portfolio performance monitoring, coordination of maintenance planning, property management activities across various asset classes, conducting agent reviews, and providing support for internal stakeholders.

 

About you

The ideal candidate will be relationship-focused with well-developed interpersonal skills, self-motivated and committed. You will need to be able to work independently as well as enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.

Specifically, as the successful candidate, you will ideally meet the following Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in property management or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial or landlord property/leasing and asset management (both commercial and residential assets).
  • Demonstrated experience in various aspects of lease administration, including a strong understanding of the complexities involved in managing lease agreements.
  • Knowledge of government legislation, policies, and procedures, as it relates to facilities management.
  • Astute commercial judgment and a solid understanding of asset management principles.
  • Ability to manage and motivate self, work collaboratively in a team environment and across an organisation, contribute to a culture of teamwork and take a shared responsibility for achieving results.
  • Proven ability to be able to gain the respect of and develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders at various levels including staff and management, managing conflict effectively, understanding and meeting needs, negotiating positive outcomes, and providing a value-added service.
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to develop critical and complex reports, documentation, and provision of specialist advice on issues of a complex nature.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, to think creatively and laterally, to problem solve and develop strategic plans along with responses that considers risk assessments, compliance requirements, budgetary requirements, and organisational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package.
  • A valid Driver’s license.
