Caritas Australia CEO, Kirsty Robertson, and international journalist and theologian Margaret Hebblethwaite invite the public to an online ‘Dinner with a Difference’ tonight, Wednesday 21 September, from 6-7pm.

The ‘Dinner with a Difference’ will raise awareness about how COVID-19, climate shocks and now the war in Ukraine, have created the perfect storm for an unprecedented global hunger crisis.

Ms. Robertson will discuss her recent trip to Ethiopia: “I met communities already on the brink of starvation, with almost no options left to feed themselves and their families. I met women who walk over 18 hours to get water, knowing that they have very little or even nothing to feed their children once they return.”

Ms. Hebblethwaite will discuss her experience in Santa Maria de Fe in Paraguay, a small, impoverished pueblo where she has spent twenty years working on development projects to serve the rural poor.

Musical entertainment will be provided on the evening by Genevieve Bryant, a celebrated Melbourne singer/songwriter.

This is a free event, but donations are encouraged. All funds raised will go towards Caritas Australia’s programs.

Register today at https://tinyurl.com/caritasdinner or ring Beth Doherty on 0432 608 310 for more information.

With thanks to Caritas Australia.
