The house which contains Holy Spirit Seminary is too small for the number of seminarians. Already we have needed to acquire a house nearby to accommodate some of the seminarians. In view of the likelihood of increasing numbers in the future, the then-Bishop of Parramatta, Bishop Manning decided to obtain other premises, large enough to accommodate increasing numbers of seminarians.
With the help of the local parish, Our Lady of the Rosary, the diocese will be able to obtain the old Infant School when it is vacated. Catholic Education, Diocese of Parramatta is providing new buildings on the site of the Junior School to consolidate the school onto one site. Work on the school will begin very shortly. The local council has already approved the Development Application for the new seminary building. If things go according to plan the new seminary should be operational by the end of 2011.
