Bishop Homeming’s Lenten Talk 3: the freedom of solitude

By Outlook Contributor, 6 April 2025
In this third and final Lenten Talk for 2025, Bishop Greg draws to a close our journey of self-examination in the freedom that is solitude.
Last week he predicted that we would find this an uncomfortable process, as we may well have found ourselves not liking what we uncover.
This week he explains that God loves us for who we are, with all our faults. Bishop Greg says that in our ‘afflictedness’, we pull back a veil through which we meet God.

Between 2022 and 2024 Bishop Greg Homeming OCD delivered three series of Lenten Talks, exploring the spirituality of three renowned Carmelites – St John of the Cross, St Teresa of Avila and St Therese of Lisieux. Produced by the Diocese of Lismore.

With thanks to Diocese of Lismore, Evangelise and Bishop Greg Homeming OCD.
