New Director has Faith In Our Future

The Diocese of Parramatta has appointed Mr Richard McMahon as the new Director of Pastoral Planning and Implementation.

The Diocese of Parramatta has appointed Mr Richard McMahon as the new Director of Pastoral Planning and Implementation.

Richard comes to the Diocese of Parramatta from the Diocese of Wollongong where he has spent the past ten years, most recently as Director of Parish Services. Prior to that, Richard was the Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation.

He completed theological studies in the 1990s following an under-grad science degree, and his early professional career included serving as a pastoral associate in three different parishes.

During Richard’s time with the Diocese of Wollongong, he developed and implemented the first Diocesan Pastoral Plan. He also helped shape and guide the Parish Services Team to ensure appropriate support to parishes in a range of pastoral areas including youth, pastoral planning, liturgy, adult faith, and outreach.

Richard is married to Judy and they have four children; James 18, Liam 15, Laura 14, and Hannah 11. Richard and Judy are very active in their parish where they have extensive ministry experience.

Richard commenced his new role on Monday, 28 September and will report to the Diocese through Fr Paul Roberts, Priest responsible for Pastoral Planning & Evangelisation.
