Led by Delegate of the Diocesan Administrator Rev Christopher de Souza PP, Greg Whitby, Chancery representatives, Catholic Education Office leaders and a small group of local principals are currently on pilgrimage to Jordan, Israel, Assisi and Rome.
There have been five pilgrimages in total, including journeys following in the footsteps of St Paul and St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
Each pilgrimage has provided a powerful formation experience, strengthening the faith of local Catholic leaders. In addition to supporting principals in their work of evangelisation, pilgrimages have also forged and strengthened collaboration and community between participants.
Desiree Rashada, Manager of People and Culture, will be sharing with us a small snippet each day of their experiences while on pilgrimage.
Day 4
Starting our morning with Mass on the Sea of Galilee, we are reminded of the story of the miracles of calming the storm and walking on water. We then visited the Church of the Multiplication, where Jesus multiplied the loaves and fish to feed the people who had come to hear Him. Onward to the Mount of Beatitudes, renowned for ‘The Sermon on the Mount’ and the Primacy of Peter – where Jesus told Peter, “Do you really love me, feed my sheep”. Finally, we visited the town of Capernaum, the centre of Jesus’ teaching and healing.
