Ambrose has experienced major growth in its school-age care services over the last five years, with the number of services more than doubling to meet the needs of growing communities in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
The latest service opening at Holy Family Parish, Luddenham in October 2024 marked the 55th service opened by Ambrose, a social enterprise of the Diocese of Parramatta’s Community Ventures agency.
Ambrose opened six school-age care services since mid-2023 including St Patrick’s Guildford, Corpus Christi Cranebrook, Holy Spirit Granville, Holy Family Parish, Granville East, St Margaret Mary’s, Merrylands, and recently Luddenham, warmly welcoming many new families to its community.

Now operating in 55 out of 58 primary schools within Parramatta’s catholic schools’ network, Ambrose continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing exceptional care and support for school-aged children locally.
Ambrose Senior Manager, School Age Care, Mabel Osei said the growth supports families in Sydney’s west to access high quality childcare.
“The heart of our values and the core of our mission remains the vision of equitable access to high quality care for all children and families across our Diocese,” Mabel said.
“As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to expanding our services and continuing to provide exceptional care and support for school-age children.”
Mabel said Ambrose’s services proudly offer nurturing environments co-located within Catholic primary schools, where children can engage in activities tailored to their various ages, interests, and needs.

These programs are designed to support the holistic development of each child, providing a balance of educational and recreational activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction.

Community Ventures is poised for continued growth next year with exciting opportunities underway.
Community Ventures Business Development Manager Melanie Corke said the vision remains to have an Ambrose school-age care service at every Catholic primary school in the Parramatta Diocese.
“This growth trajectory is testament to our strategic approach and dedication to providing equitable services to all schools across the Diocese,” Melanie said.
