Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Tamara Domicelj as incoming Country Director, commencing on 25 January 2021 – to succeed Ms Carolina Gottardo.

Ms Domicelj brings extensive senior management experience in the not-for-profit sector, having held numerous executive and leadership roles over the last two decades, with particular expertise in refugee and asylum seeker advocacy and support.

She has served as Director of the Asylum Seekers Centre, Sydney, and National Policy Director of the Refugee Council of Australia and has extensive advocacy experience both within Australia and internationally. Tamara is the current Chair of the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network’s (APRRN) Regional Protection Working Group.

We look forward to Ms Domicelj joining JRS Australia in the New Year and bringing skills and experience to lead and work collaboratively with our dedicated staff, supporters and volunteers.

JRS Australia, guided by the Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Society of Jesus, human rights principles, gender equality and diversity, aims to consolidate and further develop our mission of service, accompaniment and advocacy for refugees and migrants in vulnerable situations into the future.

Sr Annette Cunliffe
Chair, JRS Australia

With thanks to JRS Australia.
