On Saturday 10 August, the Diocese of Parramatta launched the Diocesan Pastoral Plan for a Synodal Church. Our pastoral plan represents the culmination of our Synod journey, where we have come together to listen, discern, and envision a path forward for our diocese over the past 16 months. Vale Bishop Kevin Manning
On Friday 2 August, the Diocese of Parramatta bid a fond farewell to Bishop Emeritus Kevin Manning, the second Bishop of Parramatta, during a moving service at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta. Safeguarding Face-to-face Training Opportunities
The next session of face-to-face Mandatory Safeguarding Training will be held on Monday 26 August at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Rouse Hill for Modules 1 and 3. Diocesan Season of Creation Mass: 1 September
The Diocese of Parramatta’s Laudato Si’ Action Team and Sacred Heart Parish Blackheath invite you to Mass with Bishop Vincent Long to launch the Season of Creation 2024 (1 September – 4 October) on Sunday 1 September at Sacred Heart Church, Blackheath, at 9.30am. Morning tea will be served after Mass. Let us join in praise and celebrate the gifts and wonders that God bestows on us.

Diocesan Season of Creation Gathering: 14 September
You are invited to a Diocesan Season of Creation gathering on Saturday 14 September from 10am to 4om at Winbourne Retreat Centre, Mulgoa. This event is part of Catholic Earthcare’s national Season of Creation Convocation from 12-14 September. MET Worship Children’s Liturgy Workshop: 19 September

Holy Hour for Vocations: 20 September
Please join us across the Diocese to pray for more vocations to the priesthood. Join us at Mary Immaculate Parish, Quakers Hill-Schofields on Friday 20 September 7pm to 8pm. Deacon Menard Gaspi will be leading adoration and giving a short talk about vocations to the priesthood. Confessions will be heard during Adoration. Join us afterwards for refreshments. Please join the community of Sacred Heart Parish, Mount Druitt South for the Novena and Feast of Our Lady of Good Health, from 30 August until 8 September. There will be Masses in the evenings followed by Rosary and Novena. We conclude on 8 September, the Nativity of Our Lady, with Mass at 6pm followed by a light supper. Catholic Care Bringing Up Great Kids Parenting Group: Begins 3 September
Parents and caregivers are welcome to join a parenting group designed by the Australian Childhood Foundation run over four sessions at Catholic Care’s Mamre House, Orchard Hills, from Thursday 3 September from 10am to 1pm. Mt Schoenstatt Retreat for Young Women: 13 – 15 September
The Mount Schoenstatt community invite young women aged 18 to 35 for a weekend retreat entitled, “Encounter – God, nature, friends and yourself” from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 September at the Mt Schoenstatt Shrine, Mulgoa. Glenmore Park St Padre Pio Feast Day Celebrations
Everyone is invited to join Glenmore Park Parish for the parochial feast of St Padre Pio. The parish will be celebrating a three day Triduum:
- Thursday 19 September – 7.00pm Novena to St Padre Pio and Mass
- Friday 20 September – 7.00pm Novena to St Padre Pio and Mass
- Saturday 21 September – 5.30pm Novena to St Padre Pio and Vigil Mass
