Things to do in Laudato Si’ Week

14 May 2022

It’s Laudato Si’ Week in Australia 16 to 24 May 2022 when we celebrate Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ and respond to his call for action by Catholics around the world.

Throughout Laudato Si’ Week, you and your community are encouraged to join us in reflecting and acting to bring Laudato Si’ to life.

For your invitation by Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta to respond to Laudato Si’ and take action for the care of our common home go to parracatholic.org/laudatosi

On Tuesday 17 May, 6pm to 8pm AEST Catholic Earthcare Australia will be hosting an online screening of the newly released “Regenerating Australia”’ short film. It is a fictitious news segment set on New Year’s Eve 2029, examining the decade that “could be”. After the film streams, there will be a panel discussion and question time regarding how we can take the teachings of the film and respond as Catholics here in Australia:

Register at https://www.trybooking.com/BZADT (Please note that if you are joining as a parish or group, only 1 person needs to register.)

On 22 May, 8:00pm AEST, Pope Francis’ official Laudato Si’ Week celebration will be broadcasted from St Peter’s Square in Rome on https://laudatosiweek.org/event/opening-of-laudato-si-week-by-pope-francis/

On 28 May, 1:25am AEST, a new documentary about Pope Francis and his inspiring encyclical Laudato Si’ will be screened on https://laudatosiweek.org/event/laudato-si-movie-presentation/
