A large-scale Christian musical production is gaining strong momentum across the Diocese of Parramatta, as Be The Witness — The Musical prepares to take the stage at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta from 10–13 September 2026.

Presented by Mary, Queen of the Family Parish, Blacktown, the production brings the story of Jesus to life through the eyes of St Peter — offering audiences a powerful and accessible encounter with the Gospel through music, drama and storytelling.

In recent months, the Be The Witness chorus of 60+ auditioned voices, has performed across Western Sydney, enchanting audiences at several venues from parishes to the Blacktown streets festival and even a special performance at the Bishop’s Ecumenical Dinner. The energy was infectious as audiences joined in and sang along – ‘Come to the Live Giver’ bringing tears to our eyes.

The production now enters an exciting new phase with a full cast and chorus in place and rehearsals commencing this weekend. More than 100 volunteers from parishes across the Diocese — including, actors, and singers, dancers, backstage crew and creative professionals — are contributing their time and talents to this ambitious, faith-driven initiative.

This powerful project that began quite humbly as a parish initiative has grown to be a truly significant event in Western Sydney’s faith journey, tying in appropriately with other major faith events happening across the Sydney CBD in recent weeks.

Tickets are now on sale, with a limited-time group booking offer encouraging parishes, ministries, and families to attend together:

  • Group bookings (10+) receive up to 20% off tickets
  • Offer available until 10 July (limited seats)

Organisers are encouraging parish communities to consider attending as groups, promoting the event at Masses, and inviting schools, families and friends to take part.
