Wollemi College’s Year 12 students spent a day at the Diocese of Parramatta’s Chancery Office in North Parramatta as part of a long-standing tradition, before they embark on their HSC exams this year.
The 33 young men gathered for a morning tea with Bishop of Parramatta, Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, as well as staff from Chancery and Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese.
Bishop Vincent congratulated the seniors on completing their school journey and commended them for their courage, self-discipline and grace as they prepared to transition to the next phase of their lives.
“I am very pleased to have you visit,” Bishop Vincent said.
“On behalf of Chancery, we wish you the very best, as you leave the quiet pond of Wollemi to swim in a much wider ocean – the ocean that is your future,” Bishop Vincent said.
Bishop Vincent thanked Wollemi College Headmaster James Ramos, Head of Senior School Brett Wright, and the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese for coordinating the annual event to continue fostering bonds with the Wollemi College community.
“Our prayers are with you, and all Year 12 students who are preparing for their HSC,” Bishop Vincent said.
“Wollemi has always valued the close relationship we have with Bishop Vincent. Our shared Catholic faith is integral to the life of the school, its parents, teachers, and students,” Brett Wright said.
