“My favourite part of the camp was the bushwalk rosary.” – A previous Schoenstatt camp participant.
As Easter approaches, we’re invited once again into a season of renewal – a time to pause, to reflect, and to reconnect with what matters most. For girls aged 11-18, the Girls Day Out at Mount Schoenstatt Shrine and Retreat Centre offers just that kind of space.
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, Mount Schoenstatt in Mulgoa is a peaceful setting – one of three official pilgrimage sites in the Diocese of Parramatta during this Year of Jubilee. Pilgrims who visit the shrine as part of this Jubilee are granted a Jubilee Indulgence, a special grace for those seeking deeper spiritual connection.
About Schoenstatt
The Schoenstatt Movement began in Germany in 1914. Today, the movement spans the globe, with over 210 shrines worldwide, including the one at Mulgoa – one of only two in Australia.
The Blessed Mother is venerated at Schoenstatt as the “Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and Victress of Schoenstatt,” and pilgrims are invited to entrust their joys, burdens, and hopes to her care. Many who visit speak of the peace, clarity, and grace they experience in this sacred space.
A Day for Young Women to Grow
Throughout the year, Schoenstatt hosts regular camps and retreats for girls and young women. These days are designed not only for fun, but also for meaningful reflection, prayer, and community. Activities are guided by the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary and encourage participants to explore their faith, develop leadership, and build lasting friendships.
