The construction of Good Shepherd Plumpton reached a significant milestone, as the first prefabricated elements were crane lifted into position on site, to the amazement of neighbouring Good Shepherd Primary students.
The prefabricated building was installed over three days, after having been carefully divided into modules, packed and braced for transportation to the site.
With precision, coordination and much excitement from the children, cranes meticulously lowered each piece into its designated position at the permanent location at Good Shepherd Plumpton.
Good Shepherd Early Learning Plumpton’s director Mrs Jade Hunn said the new early learning centre beside the grounds of Good Shepherd Primary School will provide a world of discovery through play-based learning for children aged between two and five years.
“I’m thrilled to share the exciting news about this new centre for Plumpton,” Jade said.
“The centre will be backed by a fantastic early learning program and parental support to nurture children in a modern, faith-filled environment.
“This will support them to thrive and make a seamless transition to primary school from their early years,” she said.
Ambrose is a social enterprise of Community Ventures. Community Ventures chief executive officer Anthony Goonan said this milestone was the beginning of tangible progress on the construction of the new early learning facility.
“It is so exciting to see the building come to life, and we can’t wait to be welcoming our families early next year,” he said.
This marks the first preschool to be built by the Diocese of Parramatta’s Community Ventures agency, which already operates six Ambrose preschools and 55 out-of-school-hours care services in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
Scheduled to open in early 2025, the preschool will be located next to Good Shepherd Primary School and will accommodate 100 children aged two to five across four learning rooms. With an aim to support working families, it will operate extended hours from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
