“I came that they might have life, and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10

Gideon Goosen, a theologian and educator living in the Blue Mountains, traces his life in Seize the Day, a 166-page memoir shaped by experiences across South Africa, Europe, and Australia.

The book offers reflections on personal growth, faith, and the challenges of navigating both life and Church, including moments of doubt, decisions, and encounters with tradition, reform, and ecumenism.

Goosen taught theology at the Australian Catholic University and holds doctorates in philosophy and theology. He has also been actively involved in ecumenical work at the local level, bringing a depth of experience to his reflections.

Readers interested in the Catholic Church’s ongoing conversations about faith and community may find his observations on synodality particularly thoughtful.
