It is with deep sorrow that we announce the recent passing of Deacon Rodrigo (Rudy) Rupac on Sunday 16 February 2025.
Deacon Rudy was ordained to the permanent diaconate by Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv on 21 October 2017, and he dedicated his life to serving God and the local community.
As a former seminarian in the Philippines, Rudy left the seminary in 1972. After his arrival in Australia, he completed a Bachelor of Theology and joined the Diocese’s permanent diaconate program in 2012, supported by his loving wife, Agnes, of nearly 50 years and their five children.
He was a devoted parishioner of St Andrew the Apostle Parish Marayong.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday 25 February at 11am at St John XXIII Parish, Glenwood-Stanhope Gardens. Viewing will begin at 10.30am.
