Step inside the global Church this September with Bishop Vincent Presents!

By Outlook Contributor, 10 August 2025
Bishop Vincent Presents Dr Nora Nonterah and Cardinal Stephen Chow SJ this September 2025.

Two thought-provoking conversations are coming to Parramatta and Melbourne – and livestreamed from Western Sydney!

This September, Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, warmly invites you to experience the richness of the global Church through two unique and inspiring guest lectures, hosted as part of the Bishop Vincent Presents series in Sydney.

These public conversations bring together diverse voices from across the world, speaking into the life of our Church today.

The Melbourne-based events will form part of the Helder Camara Lecture Series, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary. Established to promote justice, peace, and dialogue in the Church, the series continues to spark meaningful conversations about the role of faith in contemporary society.

From Ghana to Hong Kong, from lay women’s leadership to bridge-building, these events are an opportunity for all of us in the Diocese of Parramatta – and beyond – to reflect, learn and grow in faith and mission.

Places are limited, so please register to secure your seat.

Dr Nora Nonterah: Listening to the Wisdom of Women

In the first event, we welcome Dr Nora Nonterah, a leading African theological ethicist from Ghana.

As a lay woman and recent delegate to the Synod on Synodality in 2023 and 2024, Dr Nora will offer a powerful reflection on leadership, discipleship, and the wisdom of women in the Church.

Her perspective is both global and grounded, drawing from African Catholic experience and her deep commitment to peacebuilding and dialogue.
