In his book Consecration to St Joseph, Donald H. Calloway MIC writes: “In the 16th century, St John of the Cross, one of the greatest mystics of the Church, humbly acknowledged that he lacked a proper understanding of the greatness of St Joseph.
Inspired by the tremendous love that his friend, St Teresa of Avila, had for St Joseph, St John of the Cross made a firm resolution to get to know and love St Joseph better.”
Helping the faithful to “get to know and love” St Joseph better is exactly the intention of Fr Johnson Joseph, Parish Priest of Glenmore Park Parish, at a time when we celebrate the Feast of St Joseph on 19 March 2026.
Throughout the month of March, Fr Johnson offers daily reflections designed to help us encounter St Joseph in a more personal and meaningful way.
“As you all know, the month of March is dedicated to the honour of St Joseph. What a wonderful saint St Joseph is. If you want to grow in genuine love of the Eucharistic Lord, and love of the Blessed Virgin Mary, cling to St Joseph. Because as her chaste spouse and foster father of the Son of God, who became Man, St Joseph loved them as God wanted him to love them. So today, he can help us to love Mother Mary with a pure heart, divine love, and love Jesus who becomes bread for us.,” Fr Johnson said.
